What are the new posts of responsibility for this year?

As a result of a revision of staffing posts throughout the school, the following three posts are in operation for this year....

1. Second in Department 

This post is open to post holders within the science department. To work closely with the Head of Department . In addition to the present responsibilities, the post holder will be coordinate the implementation and development of How Science Works for KS3 and KS4 .

2. Year 10 AQA Coordinator

This post will involve the coordination of the new AQA course. The successful applicant will work closely with the Head of Science to ensure that appropriate schemes of work are available, and to monitor the coursework and rotations for Year 10.

3. Year 11 AQA Coordinator: (Postholder: ***)

This post will involve the coordination of the present AQA course. The successful applicant will also coordinate the OCR Science Certificate courses. The post will involve working with the Head of Department to ensure that appropriate schemes of work are available, and that coursework is monitored and completed on time.

4. Raising Achievement Coordinator : KS4

The post holder will primarily be responsible for the implementation of appropriate strategies and resources for raising achievement for all students. The position will also include tracking and target setting for students at KS4 , and the coordination of entries of students for AQA examinations.
