What formative assessments are used? |
|||||
Assessment for Learning (AfL) has been one of our priorities for development in 2005/6. This will continue into 2006/7. All schemes of work incorporate references to aspects of AfL. During 2005/6 the focus was on the development and use of group/paired assessments, and the use of ‘Badger’ assessment activities. All students are issued with a ‘levelness’ guide for each topic of study. These are available online at www.webucate.org. When used with the individual target levels (based on FFT), pupils can track their individual progress within topics. At the start of each topic a review of previous knowledge is assessed, through a checklist of learning objectives. Pupils can then determine the knowledge and understanding they will need to acquire for the topic of study. CD
ROM
resources were also used, which allow students to determine their progress at various stages during the topic. Other CD
software allow progress to be reviewed using interactive whiteboards. |
