What support can I get for managing disruptive pupils? |
|||||
Support is available! Do not hesistate to contact the Head of Science if you need support. If the Head of Science is not available, then contact the relevant Key Stage Co-ordinator. Various forms of support is available 1. Immediate support from Head of Science/Key Stage Coordinators. Normally this form of support is subject to the support teachers being available. It is possible for the teachers to leave sixth form lessons for a time (subject to activities) 2. Follow up support Contact the HOD, KS Coordinators to inform them of any issues arising from disruption. The action taken will be dependent on the nature of the situation/incident. In many cases parents will be informed, using either standard departmental letters, or by telephone. In some instances of constant, regular disruption, it will be neccessary to remove students for a perios of lessons. A programme of study will be made available in these situations. The student will only be allowed to return to the lesson after a contract has been signed by the pupil, parent(s), and the teacher. 3. Referal to Senior Management/Head of Year It is always good practice to inform the Head of Year of instances of disruption. For serious instances (see school handbook) . Senior Management will need to be contacted immediately (severe verbal abuse to teachers and/or violent aggressive behavour. ) |
