How are pupils taught at KS3?

Pupils are taught by same teacher for the whole of the school year in Years 7-9. Years 7 and 9 are taught in mixed ability classes. Starting in 2005/2006 Year 8 pupils were grouped into levelled classes (at last!), this allows for a reduction in class sizes and better differentiation. The same arrangement will continue into year 9.
